Souvenirs from Nan

Souvenirs from Nan

Hello, I’m back after having explored some amazing things in Nan. I have some photos and stories as souvenirs for all of you :)

We took the sleeper train to Denchai in Prae. I woke up cold in the non-ac cabin to find beautiful scenes through the mountains. The landscapes were unreal. Waking up to them without any expectations made them even more bliss-inducing.

We then took a little bus, a van, and a car to go uphill to Doi Phuka National Park. It got freezing cold at night, especially when we went a little unprepared for such cold weather.

We survived the night and kindly asked for a guide to take us to a cave. We walked 2 kms down to the cave. It was my first time in a cave. It was surprisingly peaceful inside. The air was a little cool and damp and you could hear, “drip” as the constantly played backgdrop. I imagined it would be perfect to meditate in there for a few nights, after I have become carefree of being in the cave, out in the woods, 2 kms from the closest road downhill, alone, for two days, then it would be just a blissful experience.

I was on my stomach to go through a narrow point in the cave

Our hill tribe man guide then showed us a beautiful waterfall not so far away. The setup was just like a water slide you would see in a water park, except not as smooooth.

The ways down to go to the cave and the waterfall were alright because they were agreeable to the gravitational force. The ways back, however, were uphill.

Up. Hill.

If one trains oneself on a regular basis through tough standing poses, arm balances and handstand, it may sound sensible for one to regard oneself as fit and ready for basically any physical challenges.

Well… Mountains are tougher than I, I mean, one thinks

Perhaps it’s a sign that I should really focus on training my body to be ready for 6 kms of going up and down the hill, especially up, so when a time like this comes my identity of a strong individual wouldn’t have been shaken as much…

The goats were much fitter than me

What is the goat-asana?
